Hello Audrey,

I can just imagine Pont Aven in summer. Maybe Kerdruc?!

We enjoyed the Quimper market, but didn't linger as long as we would have liked because it began raining quite hard soon after we arrived. There seemed to be a good balance between food and other items. We also went to markets in Aix-en-Provence and Arles. These were weekday markets and didn't have much food. The Saturday market in Nice was great!

Two years ago we stayed in Locquirec on the north coast of Brittany for one week. Another favorite place! The Tuesday market there was small but very nice. We also went to a large market in Lannion that we enjoyed. I don't remember much food there, but again it was a week day.

I love where I live, but I could move to Brittany in a second. It's in my blood, you know!

Thanks for sharing it. I'm off to subscribe!

I know exactly what you mean Celeste, Brittany never leaves you. It’s really a huge reason why I wanted to come back, especially here.

Mid-week markets, as you found out, typically have less food- or at least less pre-made food. It’s the same here in Lorient and Larmor Plage… Midweek mostly the basics, and the weekend is full out market!

A favorite. Merci! I was thinking of you last month while staying in Pont Aven. I could be very happy living there! We drove past Lorient several times, coming from Bordeaux, to and from Carnac, and on the way to Paris. I was hoping to run into you at the market in Quimper! My ancestors were from Nantes and I adore that part of France.

So glad you loved it, Celeste! You’re very lucky to have travelled around Bretagne and see so much of what it offers. Pont Aven really is so charming, but in summer, night become a touch hard to live in, as tourists flock there. But that beautiful house up on the hill just above the stream would be marvellous.

And what did you think about the market in Quimper?

Sorry, but did others have trouble printing out the recipe without a big white space on the first page. Quite honestly, it should have printed all on one page. Am I the only one with this issue?

Hopefully someone else can chime in for you, Aline. It seems to work well for me, but if others are having issues I’ll have to dig to see what that issue may be.

I can always email you a copy of my PDF if for some reason you continue to have trouble. Can you try redownloading and printing again?

Thanks so much.

I think it’s because of the ads placed strategically. I tried to print both from phone and also “real” computer. Same results. Don’t worry, I still love the recipes and this won’t stop me from trying them!

Very strange, Aline, I’m going to look into. The recipe should print without any issue, and I have tried again on a different computer and it works fine for me… Do you mind me asking which browser you’re using? The print recipe option is a plug-in, so I can contact the developer perhaps to see what’s going on. Merci!

Saved!! What a gorgeous flavoursome recipe. It is not a soup I have made before which is weird I know, but your recipe definitely is worthy of creating in my kitchen.

Thank you so much, Sally! I have to be honest, I had to wonder why I had never posted this recipe, it’s truly iconic and known throughout the world… But better late than never! Hope you’ll enjoy it.
